b. Grid Sys

a. Suitability of the area for estb of the base from tactical point of view.

c. Avail of suitable piece of ground for the base.
d. Possibility of coordination with local adm & other sy agencies.
e. Level of insurgency.
f. Suitability of the location for the achievement of the aim.
g. Attitude of the local popn & means to win their support.
h. Ensure the sy of local popn.
Adv of random sys are:
a. Can address the immediate problem.
b. Suitable locations for the bases can be sel as per the requirement.
c. Insurgent activities’ll be effectively interfered.
d. More economic.
e. Surprise can be maintained.
Dis-Adv of random sys are:
a. Difficult to maintain the newly estb sy bases.
b. Areas with the insurgent’s hold are left behind.
c. Difficult to cover and dominate remote areas thereby giving freedom of movement for the insurgents.
d. Lack of coordination & mutual support among the sy bases.
e. More troops are engaged for sy of base.
Adv of Grid sys are:
a. Mutual sp & coordination among the sy bases.
b. Tps can gradually & systematically adapt with the situation & terrain.
c. Systematic clearance of the affected area.
d. Newly established bases are less vulnerable to the insurgent’s threat.
e. Progress of the sy operation can be seen.
f. Effective psy opn can be launched.
Dis-Adv of Grid sys are:
a. Can’t address the immediate necessity in the core area.
b. More tps are reqd to produce the desired result.
c. Takes longer time & requires more log sp.
d. Insurgents get free run for their activities in the core areas where there is no deployment of SF.

b. It shd be in such a place fm where the activities of the insurgents shd be effectively controlled.
c. Should be in such a place from where a sense of sy among the local popn can be provided. But it shd not be inside the village
which undermines the sy of the popn.
d. It shd be in such location from where effective coordination with local adm & other authorities can be maintained.
e. The location of the sy base shd hinder the movement & log sp of the insurgents.
