- restless, irritable
- numbness and tingling around the mouth, nose, fingers, and toes
- tremors (hyperreflexia)
- dizziness
- seizures

- older adults- have delicate fluid and electrolyte status
- young women who have self-induced vomiting
- GI suctioning
- hypokalemia
- over ingestion of antacids that contain bicarb

- monitor I and O, VS, RR< and LOC
- Admin IV fluids carefully
- Admin O2
- Treat underlying problems
