Q

How Consistently are the Ivs measured in meta-analysis

A

They are measured in different ways usually so the researcher uses effect size as the DV in order to assess overall trends

Q

How can a weight loss program demonstrate the size of the effect

A

When a weight loss program boasts that it leads to an average weight loss of say 30 pounds then this is the size of the effect

Q

How does meta analysis allows to reach an overall conclusion

Q

What other weaknesses of meta-analysis

A

The research designs in the different studies sampled may vary considerably so it could mean that the studies are not truly comparable and therefore it may be not appropriate to put them all together. Sometimes the conclusions are therefore not a valid
