What is mesenteric adenitis (typical Hx, exam findings and Ix)
A
Child with diffuse abdo pain (not somatic tho) and current/previous hx of URTI
fever, rhinnorhea, sore/red throat, red ears
cervial lymphadenopathy
abdo tenderness not localised to RLQ (and no signs of peritonitis)
Ix -USS (cheap fast and safe) -mesenteric lymphadenoapthy
Mx - supportive treatent, painkiller and rest
care if bacterial/superinfection -always safeguard
