Adjustment disorder:
Stressors trigger a reaction causing changes in mood and/or dysfunction in performing usual activities. (less severe than ASD and PTSD)
Depersonalization/derealization disorder
Temp Change in awareness displays depersonalization, derealization, or both often in response to stress
Dissociation Amnesia
Inability to recall personal information related to traumatic or stressful events. You can forget the events of certain periods of time or details
Dissociative Fugue
person travels to a new area and is unable to remember one’s own identity and at least some of one’s past. Can last weeks to months and usually follows a traumatic event.
Situational/ External
Often unanticipated loss or change experienced every day, often unanticipated, life events. (Divorce, change in the job)
Maturational/ Internal
Achieving a new developmental stage, which requires learning additional coping mechanisms. For example, getting married or retiring.
Adventitious
Natural disasters, crime, or national disasters. People in communities with large-scale psychological trauma caused by natural disasters.

Phase 1: Escalating anxiety from a threat activates increased defense responses.
Phase 2: Anxiety continues to escalate. Disorganized. The client tries and fails to resolve anxiety
Phase 3: Server or panic level resulting in flight or withdrawal behaviors
Phase 4: The client experiences overwhelming anxiety leading to anguish feeling powerless and being overwhelmed, dissociative findings, depression, confusion, and or violence against others.
