Interphase
A
-cells spend the majority of their lives in interphase
Phase 1: G1-When the cell comes out of cell division, it grows and develops organelles and other things it needs to function. It performs its normal task as a cell (longest phase of interphase)
Phase 2: S-Sometime during this phase, the DNA gets copied preparing for cell division (2nd longest)
Phase 3: G2-Preparing for cell division: a lot of proteins that are needed for mitosis are produced during this phase (3rd longest)
-The actual cell division takes no time compare to interphase
