  • origin: inferior pubic ramus, ramus of ischium, ischial tuberosity
  • insertion: gluteal tuberosity, linea aspera, medial supracondylar line, adductor tubercle of femur
  • action: adducts, superior portion weakly flexes and medially rotates the femur; lower portion helps extend and laterally rotate thigh
  • supracondylar portion: adductor portion
  • adducto tubercle region: hamstring portion
