Medial thigh: adductor compartment Flashcards
1
Q
pectineus
A
- origin: pecten of pubis
- insertion: pectineal line of femur just inferior to LT
- action: adducts, flexes, and medially rotates the thigh
2
Q
gracilis
A
- origin: pubic symphysis and the inferior pubic ramus
- insertion: medial surface of the tibia (via pes anserinus) below condyle
- action: adducts the thigh, flexes and medially rotates leg when knee is flexed
3
Q
adductor longus
A
- origin: superior pubic ramus
- insertion: linea aspera of the femur
- action: adducts, flexes, and medially rotates the femur
- most anterior
4
Q
adductor brevis
A
- origin: inferior pubic ramus
- insertion: pectineal line and proximal linea aspera (deep to the pectineus and adductor longus mm.)
- action: adducts, flexes, and medially rotates the femur
5
Q
adductor magnus
A
- origin: inferior pubic ramus, ramus of ischium, ischial tuberosity
- insertion: gluteal tuberosity, linea aspera, medial supracondylar line, adductor tubercle of femur
- action: adducts, superior portion weakly flexes and medially rotates the femur; lower portion helps extend and laterally rotate thigh
- supracondylar portion: adductor portion
- adducto tubercle region: hamstring portion
