deeper intrinsic back muscles Flashcards
1
Q
- Spinotransverse group
A
- from a spinous process to the transverse elements of vertebrae at various levels below
- Rotatores: Deepest and shortest.
They can span 1 segment - Semispinalis: Most superficial, they span about 6 segments
- Multifidus: They span 2, 3 or 4 segments
2
Q
Interspinales
A
- short muscles attached between the spinous processes of contiguous vertebrae,
3
Q
Intertransversarii
A
short muscles attached between the transverse processes of contiguous vertebrae
4
Q
Suboccupitals
A
- Rectus capitis posterior major (more lateral): from the spine of the axis to the inferior nuchal line
- Rectus capitis posterior minor (more medial): from the posterior arch of the atlas to the inferior nuchal line
- Obliquus capitis superior (above and laterally): from the transverse process of the atlas to the nuchal lines
- Obliquus capitis inferior (below and laterally): from the spine of the axis and the transverse process of the atlas
