Presentation
A
Cough and coryzal symptoms, and conjunctivitis, and fever of 39ºC or more without antipyretics, and maculopapular rash.
Rash starts at behind ears, face and descends down trunks. Erythematous, macula-papular rash.
Infectious 4 days before and after appearance of the rash. 10-14 day prodromal phase.
Koplik spots found at buccal mucosa.

Investigations
A
Inform Local health protection team of suspicion.
Order IgG test kit for nasopharyngeal swab to confirm diagnosis.

Management
A
Self limiting illness, symptoms resolve on 1 week time. Call HPT if patient under 1 year or pregnant.
Avoid school until 4 days after rash appearance.
