What are the three steps to calculate a Surd?

A

Step 1: identify the largest square number
Step 2: separate the two numbers
Step 3: square root

e.g. Square root (sqr) of 160 = sqr 16 x 10
= sqr 16 x sqr 10
= 4 x sqr 10

A

Make a tree diagram.

e.g.   40
         /   \

                /   \
               2    5

Factorial of 40 = 2*4 x 5
