Balked landing after touchdown
If a go-around is initiated after touchdown but before thrust reverser selection:
- Disengage the A/P and disconnect the A/T, while smoothly advancing the thrust levers to go-around thrust (the configuration warning siren sounds due to the landing flap configuration).
- Verify the speedbrakes retract and autobrakes disarm.
- Maintain landing flap configuration and smoothly rotate toward 15° go-around pitch attitude at no less than Vref.
- Once airborne, push the TO/GA switch. This will activate the F/D go-around mode and re-engage the A/T in the THR mode.
- When safely airborne with a positive rate of climb, continue the go-around and missed approach procedures as described in the FCOM/QRH.
Approach to Stall or Stall Recovery
- Do not use F/D commands during recovery
- If autopilot response is unacceptable, disengage
- If autothrottle response is unacceptable, disengage
PM:
- Monitor altitude and airspeed
- Verify all required action have been completed and call out any omissions
- Call out any trend toward terrain contact
- Initiate recovery by smoothly applying nose down elevator until buffet or stick shakers stops.
- Roll in shortest direction to wings level (if needed)
- Advance thrust levers (as needed)
- Retract speedbrakes
- Do not change gear or flap configuration except: during liftoff, if flaps are up, call for flaps 1
- Check airspeed and adjust thrust as needed, establish pitch attitude, return to desired flight path
- Re-engage A/P and A/T, if desired
GPWS Warning
PM:
- Assure maximum thrust
- Verify all actions have been completed and call out any omissions
- Monitor vertical speed and altitude
- Callout any trend toward terrain contact
PF:
- Disengage autopilot and autothrottle
- Aggressively apply max thrust
- Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate to 20° pitch attitude
- Retract speedbrakes
- If terrain is still a threat continue rotation up to pitch limit indicator or stick shakers
- Do not change gear or flap configuration
- Monitor radio altimeter for sustained or increasing terrain separation
- When clear of the terrain, slowly decrease pitch attitude and accelerate
