What should you do if the EFIS control panel fails?
Select alternate EFIS control thru the CDU. Go MENU, select EFIS ON/OFF
What should you do if the DISPLAY SELECT PANEL fails? What is the EICAS message?
Can be controlled through the CDU. Go menu, DISPLAY CONTROL prompt. There is no EICAS message for this one!
What happens if the left or right PFD screen fails?
The PFD is automatically shifted to the inboard screen.
What do you do if both PFD displays go blank?
Display Control Source Switch (DSPL CTRL) to ALTN.
An alternate display processing channel is selected to replace the current display processing channel.
What would cause you to have to select DSPL CTRL to ALTN?
Undetected display source failures, such as missing/faulty display information or intermittent display blanking, may not result in automatic switching.
How many display generators are in the system?

Can you manually select ALT navigation?
Yes, NAV switch.
CDU – non–normal position (CDU visible, switch in). The selected CDU generates the ND map. Normally, the sources are:
• left ND map – left CDU
• right ND map – right CDU.
What pages are available in ALT navigation?
The alternate navigation system operates from three CDU pages:
• ALTERNATE NAVIGATION LEGS
• ALTERNATE NAVIGATION PROGRESS
• ALTERNATE NAVIGATION RADIO
Is automatic approach frequency radio tuning available when ALT NAV is selected?
The radios must be manually tuned on left and right CDUs in alternate navigation. The left CDU tunes the left VOR, DME, ADF (as Installed), and left and center ILS. The right CDU tunes the right VOR, DME, ADF (as installed), and right ILS. Manual tuning is accomplished on the ALTERNATE NAVIGATION RADIO page.
What does pushing the AIR DATA/ATT switch do?
ALTN – non–normal position (ALTN visible, switch in). The PFD and ND alternate air data/attitude source is selected as follows:
• air data (captain): SAARU single channel
• air data (first officer): ADIRU single channel
• attitude (captain and first officer): SAARU.
