How many sperm per mL for efficient pregnancy?
60,000 per mL
less than 20,000 makes it very hard
How many mL of volume for each ejaculation?
2.5mL (so 120,000 sperm needed for good odds of pregnancy)
What are some functional problems that affect fertility?
- varicose veins
- endocrine system disorder
- inflammation in reproduction organs
- nocturnal emission
- immune disorder
- impotence
What is immune infertility?
Antibodies in female egg kill sperm
What is the best age for men to have quality sperm? Women?
23 - 35
21 - 32
What are the sn/sx of male infertility?
There aren’t really any which is why it goes undiagnosed
What are the 3 categories of male infertility?
- Sexual dysfunction
- Spermatopathy
- Congenital/Acquired problems of genitals
What are problems of sexual dysfunction?
- Low Libido
- Impotence
- Seminal or Nocturnal Emission
- Premature Ejaculation or Absence
What are the categories of spermatopathy (quality and quantity)?
a) Oligospermia: small amount = number of sperm ↓
b) Azoo Spermia: NO sperm – ejaculation is only liquid. Doesn’t matter how you treat – will not work!
c) Caco Spermia: The diseased sperm have ↑.
What are congenital/acquired problems?
Testicles not descending. Often incurable.
What are the main organs involved in infertility?
Liver and Kidney
Symptoms of male infertility?
→ Depressed → Poor memory → Dizziness → Tinnitus (Kidney Essence fails to ascend to lift up to fill up the Marrow) → Hot flashes → Night Sweats → Irritability → Insomnia → Dream-disturbed sleep → Slow reaction – not concentrate
Secondary Sexual Dysfunction Symptoms
- Impotence, Seminal or Nocturnal Emission, or Premature Ejaculation, or Absence of Ejaculation, or Low Libido
- Frequent urination
- Yellow urine
- Excessive night urine (usually mean Kidney function is weak)
- Dribbling (can’t empty
