Q

What are the two major differences between Long Bi and Lin syndrome?

A

1) Look at the total volume of the urine during the day, Long bi is significantly decreased while Lin syndrome is still normal. Less than 100ml is a serious problem because toxins will not come out.
2) Urgent and painful urination for Lin syndrome, with Long bi there is pain in low abdomen but not on urination

Q

How do they diagnose a UTI?

A

Based on clinical evaluation, collect signs and symptoms then combine with lab test. Routine urine test or culture to let the bacteria grow. Most commonly it is E. coli. Use a cystogram to look inside and see what is going on.

Need to also be able to differentiate and diagnose kidney stones.
