Malcom and Donalbain Flashcards
How do we know Malcom knows what a good king is like?
Malcolm embodies the values of a good king. This is seen particularly in
Act 4, when he tests the allegiance of Macduff. By pretending to be an
awful person, he tests Macduff’s views on kingship.
Who gets the throne in the end?
In the end, Malcolm is presented as the king. His use of the phrase “by the grace of Grace” shows how important he thinks it is to do good and this implies to the audience he rules by divine right, as
opposed to Macbeth, who seized
the throne. Malcolm represents order.
Analyse “to show an unfelt sorrow is an office/which the false man does easy”
He is wary of people who seem fake and he is not as naive as his father
Malcom becomes more suspicious of false appearances then Duncan was
Give a quote that is said when celebrating Malcom on the throne
