Why does M and LM call it the crown and not the throne?

A

something that can be easily be worn or taken off
the throne suggest permeance but they see it as a “crown” because they want to see Duncan as merely a temporary king but the problem is once they see it as a crown they teach everyone that it is just a crown which they can remove from Macbeth.Irony

A

Shakespeare recognise ambition is an undercurrent between the monarchy(king) and nobility(earls,lords)
monarch cant rule without nobility
BUT when ambition is unchecked by morality the consequences are terrible for the country and for the ambitious person

A

Shakespeare establishes a conflict as nobility is portrayed as the potential risk to the crown but also as the force that can restore order
Once shakespear has given the nobles a warning he then ends the play with all these nobles helping Malcom the rightful heir These nobles can be part of making James kingship a success by restoring order
so shakes pear is Pleading to nobility to not start a revolution
This play was performed in front of King James and his nobility court not in the theatre
