emphiazed in act 1 scene 5 when macbeth writes a letter to lady macbeth he has been asking around if the witches are reliable and in the letter he says that he found a good source and believes the witches are reliable he syas they have more knowledge then macbeth and his wife

ambitious for prophecies to be true also shows he is powerful and at the same time powerless

“Macbeth does murder sleep”
Sleep symbolizes innocence, purity, and peace of mind, and in killing Duncan Macbeth actually does murder sleep.
How does sleep in act 2 link to act 5?
.The statement foreshadows the guilt and paranoia that will torment both Macbeth and his wife for the rest of the play. It also more literally foreshadows Macbeth’s insomnia and Lady Macbeth’s sleep-walking as symptoms of their guilty consciences.
