A

Tactical Air Direction Center:

Precursor to the TACC for amphibious ops

  • Marines from TACC stand up TADC ashore
  • when Marine Commanders establish on-shore the TADC becomes the TACC

  • in charge of specific mission
  • may determine how aircraft enter the fight
  • normally embarked on aircraft using (helo direction) nets
  • may provide terminal control or designate others
  • may work with PZ/LZ control for coordination/GCE support

Tactical Air Control Party

  • Teams of Marines in GCE, normally FACs and Air Officers dedicated to coordinating air support for units
  • TACP net is not for pilots use; strictly FACs and Air Os

    • only if DASC and FSCC are not physically co-located
    • must have comms via discrete nets

Tactical Air Coordination (Airborne):

  • High Altitude Aircraft to relay critical info to help DASC, FSCC, TACC
  • Direct Tactical aircraft through the objective area and ensures efficient employment
  • Usually has own airspace for objective area

A

  • control of A/C who support the ground ops
  • Procedural control: A/C must fly according to previously determined rules, routes, altitudes, and ROE
  • normally co-located with FSCC(Fire Support Control Center)
