Marine Air Command and Control System
TACC: What is it? What do they do?
Tactical Air Command Center
Head of the pyramid. They decide which missions receive aircraft support and how that support will be provided.

Tactical Air Direction Center:
Precursor to the TACC for amphibious ops
- Marines from TACC stand up TADC ashore
- when Marine Commanders establish on-shore the TADC becomes the TACC

Marine Air Traffic Control Detachment
Provides you with ground and tower control services to get your a/c airborne and safely integrated into the flow of traffic.
- 60nm radar range; IFF 120nm
- shares info over TADIL

AMC: What is it? What do they do?
Air mission commander:
- in charge of specific mission
- may determine how aircraft enter the fight
- normally embarked on aircraft using (helo direction) nets
- may provide terminal control or designate others
- may work with PZ/LZ control for coordination/GCE support
TACP: What is it and What does it do?
Tactical Air Control Party
- Teams of Marines in GCE, normally FACs and Air Officers dedicated to coordinating air support for units
- TACP net is not for pilots use; strictly FACs and Air Os
ASLT: What is it and What does it do?
Air Support Liason Team
- Relay info from FSCC to DASC
- only if DASC and FSCC are not physically co-located
- must have comms via discrete nets
TAC(A): What is it? What do they do?
Tactical Air Coordination (Airborne):
- High Altitude Aircraft to relay critical info to help DASC, FSCC, TACC
- Direct Tactical aircraft through the objective area and ensures efficient employment
- Usually has own airspace for objective area
MMT: What is it? What do they do?
Marine Air Traffic Control Mobile Team:
- small group(6) attached to ACE provides minimal ATC services @ L2 or OLF
- Terminal Control: Departures/Arrivals/Airspace (Same dimensions as class D)
SAAWF: What is it? What do they do?
Sector Anti-Air Warfare Facility:
-Subordinate to TACC, responsible for Anti-Air
TAOC: What is it? What do they do?
Tactical Air Operations Center: “ SOCAL Approach with Guns” 1. Examples of Caps: Direct to tanker Vector thru IMC Inform of Incoming bogey
LAAD: What is it? What do they do?
Low Altitude Air Defense:
- Base Defense Zone
- Deferral Base w/ stingers
- Can see mode 4 squawk
- Works for SAAWF
DASC: What is it? What do they do?
Direct Air Support Center
- control of A/C who support the ground ops
- Procedural control: A/C must fly according to previously determined rules, routes, altitudes, and ROE
- normally co-located with FSCC(Fire Support Control Center)
