What does fail passive mean?
A single failure will lead to autopilot disconnection but does not leave the aircraft significantly out of trim. Landing must be manual.
What does fail operational mean?
A failure of a system will subsequently leave the aircraft in a fail passive condition. If it fails below AH then the landing can be continued by the remaining part of the automatic system.
What happens if you have passed the approach ban point and the RVR drops below the minimum?
You can continue to the DH, or in the case of CAT3 B to land.
When do the centreline lights alternate red to white?
900m to go
When do the centreline lights show red only?
300m to go
