29 - Hydraulics Flashcards
What is the normal operating pressure of the hydraulics?
3000 PSI
2500 when powered by the RAT
Which pump pressurises the green system?
Engine 1 pump
Which pump pressurises the blue system?
Electric pump
RAT in an emergency
Which pumps (3) pressurise the yellow system?
Engine 2 pump
Electric pump also exists for the yellow system on the ground when engines are stopped
Hand pump for yellow system also
When does the PTU operate?
When the differential pressure between the green and yellow is greater than 500PSI
When does the RAT automatically deploy?
When AC BUS 1 and AC BUS 2 have failed
Where are the shutoff valves for the green and yellow system?
Upstream of the pump
What air pressurises the hydraulic reservoirs normally?
HP Bleed air from engine 1
If air is low it takes it from the cross bleed duct.
When does the blue pump operate?
In flight if AC power available
If the pb is pushed on maintenance panel
When is the PTU inhibited?
During the first engine start
What does pressing the Yellow pump on for single engine taxi do?
Pressurises the yellow system without using the PTU
Which systems have accumulators?
All three!
When does the pressure go amber on the ECAM page?
<1450PSI
Why are the hydraulic reservoirs pressurised?
Prevents them from cavitation.
What does the circle below the square represent on the ECAM hydraulics page?
Fire shutoff valves
