32 Landing Gear Flashcards
What are LGCIUs and how many are there?
Landing Gear Control and Interface Units
2 of them
When do the LGCIUs swap over?
At the completion of a full cycle
i.e down and then back up again
Which hydraulic system controls the gear and doors?
Green Hydraulics
What happens when the gravity gear handcrank is turned?
Isolates the gear from the green system
Unlocks the gear doors
Allows gravity to drop the gear
Which LGCIU is the landing gear indicator panel connected to?
LGCIU 1
Which LGCIU provides information to the ECAM wheel page?
Both LGCIU 1+2
How many green triangles on the ECAM page do you need to see to confirm the gear is down and locked?
1 triangle per gear
What speed are the hydraulics cut off from the gear?
260kts
When does the red arrow appear next to the landing gear lever?
When the get is not locked down and in landing config
Which system supplies the nosewheel steering?
Yellow
What is a BSCU
Brake and Steering Control Unit
What is the maximum deflection from the tiller for the nose wheel?
75 degrees
What steering angle can a tow bar give on the nose wheel?
95 degrees
What hydraulic systems are the normal and alternate braking?
Normal is green
Alternate is yellow
When does the BSCU change over?
At each down landing gear lever selection
When is auto brake activated?
When ground spoilers extend
What are the 4 braking modes?
Normal
Alternate WITH anti skid
Alternate WITHOUT anti skid
Parking brake
How many applications can the alternate braking accumulator provide?
What PSI is it limited to?
7 full brake applications
Automatically limited to 1000PSI
How could you pressurise the accumulators if they did not have sufficient pressure?
Using the yellow electric pump
What happens when you switch the ANTISKID and nosewheel steering to off during loss of braking?
Switches the BSCU to the ABCU. Activating alternate braking mode.
When is maintenance action required for hot brakes?
Difference on the same gear >150 and one gear is either 600 or 60
Brake temp 900 or higher
Fuse plug melted
