Examples of antihistamines
Fexofenadine(Allegra), Diphenhydramine(Benadryl), Loratadine(Claritin), Cetirizine(Zyrtec)
What are NSAIDS?
Drugs with analgesic (reduce pain), antipyretic (high fever), and anti inflammatory affects.
How much should and initial morphine dose be?
5mg slow IV push

800 micrograms, transbuccal (absorbed through the cheek)
What is an antibiotic?
Chemical compound that kills the growth of microorganisms.
Common side effects of NSAIDS?
Gastric irritation, lack of appetite, prolonged clotting time.
Side affects of morphine?
Respiratory distress, nausea/vomiting, constricted pupils, and inhibition of pupillary reactor.
What is a histamine?
A substance that causes gastric secretion, dialation of capillaries, constriction of smooth bronchial muscles, and decreases blood pressure.
What is one of the advantages of IV?
Fast absorption
What does tinea mean?
A fungal infection.
What is tinea corpus?
Ringworm of body.
What is tinea pedis?
Athletes foot
What is tinea capitus?
Scalp infection
What is tinea cruris?
Jock itch
What are side effects of anti histamines?
Dry mouth and sleepiness
