Describe Sural nerve compression. Tinel’s sign?
Pain, numbness and paresthesias in lateral foot and ankle; Tinel’s sign posterior to lateral malleolus.
Describe Posterior Tibial nerve compression. Symptoms? Tinel’s sign?
Compression as it passes under flexor retinaculum, posterior to medial malleollus. Pain, numbness and paresthesias in heel and plantar surface of foot; Tinel’s sign posterior to medial malleolus.
Describe Common peroneal nerve compression. Symptoms? Tinel’s sign?
Compression at neck of fibula. Pain and numbness in lateral leg and dorsum foot. Weakness of tibialis anterior and peroneus longus; Tinel’s sign at fibular neck.
Describe Deep Peroneal nerve compression. Symptoms? Tinel’s sign?
Compression as it passes under superficial fascia at ankle, anterior to medial malleolus. Pain in web space between 1 and 2; Tinel’s sign at ankle and EHL
Describe Superficial Peroneal nerve compression. Symptoms? Tinel’s sign?
Compression anterior and medial to lateral malleolus. Pain, numbness and paresthesia at dorsum foot EXCEPT web space between 1 and 2; Tinel’s sign at anterior ankle
Describe Saphenous nerve compression. Symptoms? Tinel’s sign?
Compression at medial knee, anterior leg or ankle. PNP at medial knee, leg and foot; Tinel’s sign along course of nerve.
Describe Morton’s Neuroma. Symptoms?
Swelling of interdigital nerve. Burning in plantar foot. Sensation of pebble in shoe; Poorly fit shoes.
