Flight Training

A

Subject to Luton Bye-Laws and permission of aerodrome operator.
Tactical acceptance by GW Air and GS A in coord with TC Luton.
Not permitted between 2300-0600L.
Max 1 detail and hour.
No restrictions of number of IAPs, however NDB holding and approach not accepted with 07 in use.
Local flights departing from and returning to Luton with one or more IAPs is a training flight.
Normal flights not to be delayed - trng cat z

Visual Circuit coord

A

Air to obtain release from TC Luton for each period of circuits - state level and flight rules.
TC Luton will coord any traffic through or close to ATZ if not 1000ft seperate from CCT.
Flight training a/c follow noise abatement, if required to.

Separation of 2 or more SVFR or IFR/SVFR in circuit is INT responsibility unless AIR can apply RSIVA

Balloon Flights

A

Non radio is prohibited.
By day and VFR only. May be permitted either by RTF or phone.

Police Helicopter

A

Grid system (1-43) Luton Police Heli Grid.
Available to UKP, AIR, TC Luton.
Grids that cross an extended centerline must be instructed North or South of centerline and require clearance to cross extended centerline.

A

Up to aprox 500ft, rarely 2,500ft.
If practical, advise low flying a/c in vicinity.
4 sites - between M1J8-9 X3, south of Wheathampsted X1.
Chiltern ASU is aware.

SVFR Entry/Exit lane criteria

A

1.5nm wide. Subject to:
Clearance by INT
COCWSIS
Not above A1.5
Pilot responsible for own SEP within the lane - TI passed when requested or deemed necessary.
Pilot responsible for terain and obs clearance

Where a Heli is SVFR, shall use lane instead of the required routing to achieve separation.

SVFR Deemed Separation

A

A/c within Lane. At or North of Offley / At or South of Hyde.

Deemed separated from:
25 arrivals on final approach track
07 arrivals on final approach track
25 Departures tracking towards BNN until vertical separation
07 departures on runway heading till vertical separation

A

,Air can freeflow without TC reference, if within a lane or via a route as above. Must immediately inform INT.

If no traffic to effect, route may skip hyde

SVFR Minima

A

Day or Night, 140knts or less:
Heli- Ground Vis 800m, Ceiling 600ft
Non Heli - Ground Vis 1500m, ceiling 600ft

pplies only when Departing, Arriving, or through an ATZ - otherwise up to pilots in flight. Additionally exempted are Police, Helimed, Rescue, Electricity, Grid, Powerline, Pipeline, and rail track inspection
