Departure Separation Responsibilities
Initial dep sep, GW AIR.
Int responsible for separating GW inbounds and departures, and transit’s and outbound. Except for 07 CPT and OLNEY.
Full releases from NE/NW, they are responsible for sep from deps.
Departure subject release
- When required by TC Luton
- SDR
- IFR <4 min behind SDR excluding J
- IFR behind J, till ascertained passed abeam
- IFR not on NPR
- Subsequent IFR within 10min
- IFR not in speed table
- Subsequent IFR within 10min
- First dep from RW change unless freeflow given
- AIR intends to depart with less than required sep
- Air considers conditions will not provide adequate separation.
- SVFR, and then following SVFR/IFR if GW is unable to separate.
Speed Table Use Requirements
AIR ensures visual or ATM, initial track conforms to clearance.
Ensure that a/c with large turns after departure don’t erode sep.
07 Reduced Departure Separation
MATCH/DET followed by a CPT, 1min maybe 3nm instead.
Excluding following CPT, a/c 2 groups or slower than preceding on same route reduced to 1min subject wake.
When 2 minute is specified, 5nm may be used.

NW will not climb if reported level is A4.
OLNEY not to be restricted below A4.
TC Luton responsible Vs LC BPK.
Not to pass BNN R347
CPT Dep misc
Climb subject LC BPK / SAXBI dep.
Remain north of BNN D4 at all times.
Non Standard Departures
Airways subject TC N.
NPR to be observed.
SVFR / None Airway:
Initial track, annotate on strip.
Shall be transferred to fin.
If no transponder, get airborne time.
Remain in RMA South / North, otherwise Coord.
J & K SDR considerations
Must not be given below A4 IFR.
Not vectored till reaching 4A (Dunstable).
Fin to work.
TC Luton responsible for SEP against full release traffic.
Shall not request higher from NW.
R, J, and W SDR considerations
Penetrate Class A (TMA 3, base A3.5)
VFR not above A3.5.
J will penetrate Dunstable, but is VFR.
For J & W, if holding at LOREL, OCAS at A4 so get higher.

Squawk and Freq allocated.
Restricted to GW CAS only unless coorded.
Radar Handover to Mil.
CCC only once with Mil.
Coordination with TMA use both callsign and SSR code.
Not required to route via BIGLI.
GW VFR Departure
Without reference to int if:
VFR.
Within lane, exit pirton or Hemel.
Not above A1.5.
A4677.
Air informs int “c/s VFR Dep north/south”.
Once know, int responsible to inform of pertinent traffic, within 3nm of lane VFR not above A2 or IFR not above A2.5
Will be QSY at boundary. If calling Luton for service needs discrete squawk.
