When will AMSAC actuate?
A
SGNR Level ≤ 15% [1/1 on 3/4] [25 sec TD]
Initiates:
- Turbine Trip
- Aux Feed Actuation
- Blowdown Isolation
- SG Sampling Isolation
Note:
Armed if ≥ C-20 (≥ 30% Impulse Pressure) [2/2] ≈ 40% RTP
- Peak pressure not a concern if < 70% RTP
- Stays armed for 360 sec after falling below 30% impulse pressure

What is the design basis casualty for AMSAC?
A
Loss of Feedwater with no RPS Actuation
- PZR PORVs, Rx Trip, Turbine Trip, SG Safeties, and AFW still function.
- Peak pressure: 2833 psig
- Emergency Pressure limit is 3200 psig
Note:
Protected as long as turbine trips in 30 secs and AFW starts in 60 secs
