Lifting and marking
A
- when marking a ball the marker must be an artificial object
- must mark ball before lifting if it goes back on the same spot
- no need to mark if ball is being placed somewhere else

When can you clean your ball
A
- anytime you lift ball…
- from green
- inside teeing area
- to take relief
- ball moved and needs to be replaced

When can’t you clean your ball
A
lifting from general area, bunker, penalty area…
- to see if the ball is cracked
- to identify it
- it interferes with play
- to see if it lies in conditions where relief is allowed

Can you switch golf balls when dropping
A
You may use original or new ball when dropping

Dropping in the “right way”
A
You drop it from knee height and the ball goes straight down and hits the ground first

What happens if your ball goes outside relief area
A
If dropped the right way, you drop again and then place it if it rolls out of relief area a 2nd time

Stroke vs match play
A
stroke play - other players can lift your ball
match play - opponent can lift your ball if you authorize it
-in a team format your partner can drop for you
