LI-M of Hand Yang Ming Flashcards
conditions
head, face, five sense organs, pharynx+larynx, febrile diseases and areas the meridian supplies
signs and symptoms
congested and sore throat, toothache, watery nasal discharge or epistaxis, pain or hotness and swelling or coldness along the meridian
meridian pathway
- originates radial side of index finger
- runs along radial side of index finger passing the interspace of 1st+2nd MC
- dips into anatomical snuffbox
- continues on antero-lateral aspect of forearm to lateral end of cubital crease
- travels up upper arm to LI15 near anterior border of acromion process
- runs to 7th cervical fossa (GV14) then connects to supra-clavicular fossa
- 1 branch from fossa up neck and cheek, curves around upper lip, crosses filtrum where GV26 located and terminates at mid point of ala nasi on opposite side
from cheek internally connects with gums of lower teeth - 1 branch from fossa internally connecting LU, diaphragm and LI then to ST37, lower He-Sea pt
Luo connecting meridian
longitudinal - forearm to upper arm before going to Jianyu (LI15) then to lower portion of cheek+gums
transverse -
Divergent meridian
starts from Jianyu (LI15) and travels to Dazhu (GV14) before travelling to LU+LI
also connects to Quepen (ST12) and finally to 6th confluence pt LI18
muscle region
starts at index finger and knots (crosses) at dorsum of wrist before going uo forearm and knotting at lateral aspect of elbow
goes to LI15 through upper arm and a branch connects to meet with SI muscle region on upper back
another branch up neck and at face one branch travels to side of nose and other branch goes up over head and connects with mandible on opposite side
