A
👎- cut off point- subjective- abnormal or normal?- dividing line- e.g. IQ 70/71
👍- judgments- based- objective, scientific 🧪, unbiased data- ⬆️ accurate- psychologists ⬆️ confident- diagnose abnormality/help
👎- labelling ppl abnormal- society criticism (IQ e.g.)- 👎 effect only person, ⬇️ self confidence, ⬇️ self esteem
👍- can be good thing- unusual/statistically infrequent- e.g. IQ ⬆️ 130- good thing- intelligent, 👍, desirable
