Q

What happens when insufficient oxygen is supplied to muscle cells during exercise?

A
  • Anaerobic respiration.
  • Build up of lactic acid
  • Over long periods of vigorous exercise, lactic acid causes muscles to become fatigued and stop contracting efficiently.
