skip lesion - inflammation-normal-inflammation
right lower quadrant/abdomen pain

T=symptomatic
E=Stress, viral, bacterial-unknown

What is Ulcerative Colitis?
Inflammation of segment of colon.
No skip lesions
S&S of Ulcerative Colitis?
left lower quadrant/abdomen pain

Treatment of Ulcerative Colitis?
anti-inflammatory agents,
What is appendicitis?
inflammation of appendix due to obstruction
Treatment of appendicitis?
Surgery to remove appendix
Diagnose appendicitis?
clinical but CT scan preferred
S&S of appendicitis?
Pain in lower right quadrant (McBurney’s point)
fever, malaise, diarrhea
What is stomatitis?
inflammation of the mouth (oral mucosa)
type 1: herpatic (cold sores) infectious
type 2: aphthous (canker sores)
S&S of Herpetic Stomatitis?
S&S of Aphthous Stomatitis?
H=Blisters, Ulcerating lesions on lips
A=burning, tingling, ulcers of mucous membrane
What is Viral Hepatitis?
Inflammation of liver caused by several viruses
