Q

why does author b think that author a can’t know love

A

author a cannot really know love because love always has to be defeated. Duty always comes along and then love dies

on authors b’s love, when his romantic love transforms with duty and forms conjugal love, that is real and eternal love

17
Q

why does author a think that duty and love are incompatible

if you are required to love someone (duty) is it really love? Isn’t the essence of love that it is free?

18

A

it is necessary, love without duty is infatuation and infatuation never lasts. Without duty, love will always be defeated
