shows that innocent people can suffer, ethical lifestyle says that if you do good, you will be treated good but these people did nothing wrong and were murdered
‘if you are virtuous you will end up in a good place’
karma
what’s the problem of evil
evil exists and punishes good people and bad people alike (Jerusalem)
what does the sermon intend to do
provide ethical despair -
do the right thing and it can still go wrong for you (jerusulaem)
do the wrong thing and you’ll prosper (romans)
what is the primary question that the sermon guy intends to ask (quote)
“Wouldn’t it be more edifying, that when you think you are being wronged, and it seems like God is wronging you, isn’t it more edifying that there is something you haven’t understood, that you don’t have the full picture but God does”
always against god we are in the wrong
doesn’t ask if its right just if its more edifying
how does love play a role in being wrong against god
the more you love someone the more you trust that they aren’t wronging you, there is simply something you just dont understand yet
