Lean body mass (skeletal muscle, bone, water)
Fat body mass (storage fat, essential fat)
What is another name for Storage Fat and what does it function as?
Subcutaneous adipose tissue:
- fat that accumulates as adipose
- serves as energy reserves
- cushions, protects organs
- mainly subcutaneous distribution
- male 12%, female 15%
