Kupfffer cells

A

A specialised macrophage- Phagocytosis.

  • Traps+ phagocytosis of old aged erythrocytes (120 day old)
  • Produces Bilirubin, hepatocytes convert it into Bile

How does carbohydrate metabolism happen?

A

Fatty acids formed from carbs
Triglycerides formed from fatty acids+ glycerol
Gluceoneogenesis- Glucose formed by Alana one, glycerol precursors

Contains vacuole which contain vitamin A- synthesise and deposit collagen in the perisinusoidal space- resulting in liver fibrosis
