Q

What are the 3 types of muscle tissue

A
-Skeletal Muscle
   • Pulls on skeletal bones
   •Voluntary contraction
-Cardiac Muscle
•Pushes blood through arteries and veins
   •Rhythmic contractions
-Smooth Muscle
•Pushes fluids and solids along the digestive tract, for example
   •Involuntary contraction

Q

Aponeurosis

A
  • Attachment of Muscle by thin, broad sheet
  • Composed of parallel bundles of collagen fibers
  • E.g. external oblique aponeurosis

Q

Synergist

A
  • Muscle that helps larger agonist work efficiently
  • May provide additional pull or stabilize Origin
  • Ex: barchioradialis for elbow flexion
