Q

explain the perceptual cognitive cycle

A

is a concept proposed by ulrich Niesser explaining how cognition is an ongoing cycle of trying to create meaning and sense of our environment. It suggests how our experience is a combination of the perceptual present and cognitive past

Q

Explain what a cogniser (cognitive agent) is

A

is a system that act/coordinates its behaviour with envoronemtnal features that arent always present like goal-making and mental representations are used to in replacement to allow the formation of concepts.

Q

Who can be defined as a cogniser?

A

categorised as having the ability to interact with their environment through detecting changes, acting on it and therefore gain/learn information. They can construct mental models of their environmental structure and have the flexibility to adapt their models in accordance to the feedback given about their behaviour that subsequently guides any future behaviour. inferenece are also used as a mechanism to make sense of their experience and are able to build a whole system where connections between concepts form.
