What is anatomical position?
a stance in which an individual stands or lays with their legs open about shoulder width apart, palms facing forwards, head looking forward as well, and their arms out to the side so they are no longer touching other parts of their body
positional/directional terms
Midline (the centerline of the body)
medial (closer to the midline of the body)
lateral (further from the midline of the body)
proximal (close to where the limbs attached)
distal (further from where the limbs attached)
superior/cranial/cephalic (above/closer to the head)
inferior/caudal (below)
posterior/dorsal (behind)
anterior/ventral (in front of)
superficial (closer to the skin)
deep (further from the skin/ deeper in the body)
What is the difference between prone and supine?
prone=belly down, supine=belly up

Sagittal (divides body into left and right)
frontal (coronal) (divides body into front and back)
transverse (divides body into lower and upper)
