What is developmental delay? Global vs specific?
A
- Specific = behind other children their age in particular area eg language/social/motor
- Global = late reaching milestones, behind peers in a range of areas

Developmental delay vs developmental delay with learning disability
A
- DD alone will still allow for milestones to be reached just at a later date, they will continue to develop
- If LD too, can impair development and lack reaching milestones as time goes on

How is IQ used to assess learning disability?
A
- Estimate of intellectual functioning - but only one component
- Takes into account verbal comprehension, perceptual reasoning, working memory and processing speed
