Reasons why a worker might be unfairly dismissed
-The inability of the worker to perform the required standard of work despite the necessary interventions that have been offered
-The need of the employer to reduce the workforce as new systems may have led to some workers becoming redundant or for the inability of the company to keep them employed
-Unresolved conflict between a worker and his colleagues as this may hinder the performance of the workforce leading to particular workers becoming less committed to their work
Reasons why disabled people could protect themselves from unfair dismissal
-Sign a job contact as soon as they are appointed so that they may secure the job they were selected for and this may ensure that persons with disabilities are also considered for a permanent job within the lawful timeframe
-Know the conditions of service as set out in the employment contract so that they can make sure that the employer adheres to these conditions and this way all persons with disabilities could be certain that no unreasonable demands may be made on them in the workplace
Reasons why workers should know the regulations on taking leave
-They must know so that they are aware of what required documents are needed for different leave taking
-So they know when the relevant documents should be submitted to the employer
Ways employers could reinforce work ethics to counteract absenteeism in the workplace
-Consider introducing employee wellness programmes which may help reduce work stress and in this way they may develop a positive approach on work
-Monitor how workers use their leave which may help them to manage their leave better and in this way they may be able to plan their leave in line with their work responsibilities
