What is the prerequisite for the use of absence to create respect?
You need to establish omnipresence.
What is omnipresence?
Everything they see around them reminds them of you.
How do you establish presence?
You use an image. It should have the following properties:
- Recognisable
- Reproducible
- Seen everywhere
- Seen, appreciated and loved
When do you know that you have established omnipresence?
When everything around them reminds them of your presence.
What does establishing presence do to them?
It inflames their love for you, and crystallizes it.
What happens when you are present around them too much?
They take you for granted, they start resenting you, and they don’t get jealous (?). They basically get used to you.
What is the most effective way of using absence?
By disappearing without reason.
What effect does disappearing without reason have on them?
Their imagination runs wild, and their mind runs in different directions -
- They come up with possible reasons
- “Was it my fault?”
- GUILT –> their criticisms of you, arguments they had with you.
What happens when you return from an unexplained absence?
They get relieved from their guilt, their love grows stronger, and it demands respect and honour.
Basically, what does your absence make them realise?
It makes them realize how much they need you.

When you’re absent (without explanation), it makes the CRAVE you, and they come crawling back to you.
How do you increase the value of what you provide?
Make it scarce, and make your sskills rare and hard to find.
Can you control demand for your skill?
Deliberately control supply to boost demand.
What happens when everything around them reminds them of your presence?
When you’re away, they’re always thinking of you.
What is the nuclear way of forcing respect?
Once you’ve established omnipresence, you can force respect by threatening them with the possibility they’ll lose you for good.
