Types of costs
1) Direct: related to product
Ex: labor, reagent, supplies, quality controls
2) indirect : create environment for production
Ex: supervisor labor, building maintenance, rent
3) overhead: do not contribute to revenue
Ex: administration (local and global), utilities

1) Fixed: does not vary over time or volume

2) Variable: varies over time or parallels vol
