Lab 8 Learning Issues Flashcards
epididymus location head
enlarged head is attached to cr end of the testis where it receives efferent ductules
epididymus location body
narrow; connected to testis by membrane which together with testis and epididymus forms testicular bursa
remnants of gubernaculum male
proper ligament of the testis and ligament of the tail of the epididymis
proper ligament of the testis
fold of visceral vaginal tunic btwn enlarged tail of the epididymis and cd end of testis
ligament of the tail of the epididymis
serous fold between tail of epididymis and parietal vaginal tunic
tail of the epididymis
gives rise to deferent duct which is enclosed in mesoductus and passes dorsally into inguinal canal
mesoductus deferens
suspends deferent duct
cremaster muscle
inserts on caudloateral surface of the vaginal tunic
external uretheral orifice
located on floor of the vestibule about 12cm from ventral commissure of vulva (vestibule extends crly from labia of vulva to fleshy transverse flap that rises from floor and overhangs the uretheral orifice); ie external uretheral orifice is boundary between vestibule and vagina (vestibule is more cd?)
external uterine orifice
in the center of the part of the cervix that projects into the vagina; this is surrounded by folds of cervical mucosa
trigone of the bladder
in triangle formed by ureteric and uretheral orificies the mucosa is closely attached to submucosa and does not form folds; the mucosa of the bladder at the internal uretheral orificice (not part of the trigone) will have small longitudinal folds
internal anal sphincter
terminal thickening of circular muscle of the rectum. Thick and pale (smooth muscle) lies between external sphincter and anal mucosa
external anal sphincter
darker than internal because it is striated voluntary muscle
superficial gluteal
coxal tuber and gluteal fascia; insertion: third trochanter; innervated by cr and cd gluteal nerve
middle gluteal
Gluteal surface of ilium to greater trochanter; innervated by cr gluteal nerve
