*Lab 2/9? Cementation Flashcards
Type of etch for zirconia:
air abrasion, microetch
Type of retention inc w surface area increase:
micromechanical mostly
What do the silica particles used in air abrasion adhere to?
coupling agent, silica is added to the surface that is abraided
TF? Phosphoric acid can etch predominantly glass or particle infiltrated glass.
F
TF? HF acid can etch predominantly glass or particle infiltrated glass.
T
Apply HF acid to:
restoration
Apply Phosphoric acid to:
toth structure
Materials to use HF acid w:
Pred Glass: Aluminum oxide, Particle filled glass: Leucite, LiDi, not glass infiltrated alumina
Air abrasion for these materiales:
glass infiltrated alumina, Aluminum oxide, zirconium oxide
Ways to cement zirconia:
can be conventional, recommended adhesively
TF? RMGI is good for zirconia:
F
Anytime we cement partial coverage we should use:
adhesive resin
Conventional cement:
retention coming from the crown, not etch or bond(?)
Use these cement for thick patial:
dual cure, chemical cure
For veneer with appropriate thickness: __ mm can use light cure to cement
0.3-0.5mm
