1/18 Record Survey Crown Prep Flashcards
Cast restos for retainers for partial RDP need:
rentive UC’s, GP’s, rest seats or precision attachments
Ways to modify remaining dentition for retainers for partial RDP:
enamoplasty and/ or addition of composite resin
Steps to aligning the cast to survey:
occlusal surface of teeth parallel to platform, A-P adjustment to make as parallel as possible, then lateral, mark bony UC’s
To send to lab for survey crown:
die fabrication, mounted working cast, tripoded cast, RPD design submission
Steps after prepping survey crown:
def impression, interocclusal record, interim
Reductions for #30:
B cusp: 1.5mm, L cusp and CG: 1mm
When do we need retainers for partial RDP?
min tooth prep to modify natural teeth by enamoplasty or addition of composite resin, cast retos w Gp’s, rest seats, retentive UC’s, or precision attachments
Purposes of surveying:
assess relative alignment of long axes of teeth that will support partial, determine POI, evaluate tissue UC’s and their influence on partial design
Surveying sequence:
A-P, then lateral, assess bony UC, GPs, HOC, prep tooth for survey crown, definitive impression, interocclusal, interim
30 prep:
Check interocclusal clearance, DMR reduction (football finishing bur)
Clearance needed for MMR / complete rest seat:
2-2.5mm
Dimensions of rest on #30:
1/4 MD, 1/2 BL cusp tips
How to check clearance:
go into excursive movements
alignment of central after mounting pidexed cst:
central in protrusive moves - increase the table height so pin touches rights as the incisal edges touch
Steps to complete on die before wax up:
mark finish line, die spacer, die hardener
