What is the WMAs definition of military medical ethics?
That military medical ethics is identical to medical ethics in peace time.
In reality this does not happen.
What is deontology?
It is theory that the action itself is right or wrong rather than the consequences of the action. Have a duty to patients.
What is utilitarianism?
Actions that benefit the majority and are the most useful.
What is prinicalist ethics?
Centres around autonomy, benificence, non-maleficence and justice
What is the military four quadrants approach to ethics?
They look at: Medical indications Quality of life patient preferences Contectual factors
What is dual loyalty conflict in military ethics?
You must treat who you are commanded to treat even if you feel this is not right. Medical law is that you should treat people equally however military law dictates that you should treat soldiers before civilians.
What is the definition of neutrality?
The state of not supporting or helping either side in a conflict
What is the definition of impartiality?
equal treatment of all rivals or disputants.
