- Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

- Blood born infections: mostly TB and rare now.

- Endogenous infections: caused by overgrowth of microbial agents that are normal Inhabitants (as candida albicans or bacterial vaginosis).

- Non-specific infections: caused by inappropriate infection prevention measures:

a. Puerperal or post-abortive.

b. After pelvic examination.

c. Traditional practice (female genital mutilation or vaginal tampons
