Why did the Kornilov Revolt take place?
A
Bolsheviks were becoming too powerful.
By September 1917 the Bolsheviks had 250,000 members and they controlled the Moscow Soviet.
In September Trotsky became the leader of the MRC.

A
7th September Kornilov demanded the resignation of cabinet. Kerensky responded by dismissing Kornilov from office.
Bolsheviks fought against Kornilov and enlisted 25,000 in a few days.

A
Bolsheviks were praised for stopping the revolution.
More people trusted the Bolsheviks.
People began to increasingly desert from the army and kill their officers.
