Ramadan
What: Muslims complete Ramadan by not eating or drinking during daylight hours for 30 days.
Why: Muslims remember how Allah gave the Qur’an to Muhammad.
Diwali
What: During Diwali, Hindus wear their finest clothes and illuminate their home with Saaki (Earthen lamps)
Why: It marks the Hindu new Year and is generally associated with the worship of Goddess Lakshmi.
Ramayana: The Ramayana is the Hindu Holy book that tells the story of Rama and Sita.
Passover
What: The house is cleaned from top to bottom to remove any Chametz (leaven) from the home
Why: It educates them about their past - “The journey from slavery to freedom is one we need to travel in every generation”.
