Q

Describe habitat fragments

A

Their total surface area is smaller.

They have limited resources so cannot support as much life.

They also suffer from degradation at their edges further reducing their size

Q

Why is the degradation of edges in a habitat fragment bad

A

When edges degrade, the edge species move closer into the centre

More completion between the edge species + middle species

Some die so there is a loss of genetic diversity

Q

What is the advantage of habits corridors

A

Links habitats together so:
